looks the same as before so far. cleaned the block last night, might skip the touchup paint. crank rods and pistons are back in their respective holes, as are the squirters and the aux shaft.

head studs and other misc. items should be here monday, so the rest of re-assembly can resume at that point.

Very Nice!!

I am amazed that you can still reuse the engine at all. It looked like it had one hell of a trip from your pictures so it is cool that it is still in good condition after all that.

headstuds are here, waiting on the gaskets from fcp. probably won't get a chance to do anything with it today (wife's b-day) but hopefully by the end of the weekend the engine will be back together. gotta get the intake manifold fixed, but eh, could be worse.

True that, the engine could be toast. You could probably fix the manifold yourself couldn't you?

I'm going to enlist the help of my buddy with the Tig to weld a new flange on it.

still haven't opened the box (but maybe today)
worked on stuff sunday for part of the day, it was too damn hot even with the a/c on in the shop from about 1pm to 4pm.

got all my freeze plug plates cut out, drilled, block drilled and tapped, plates mounted and holes welded up, I've gotta take em off this afternoon and straighten em out, rtv where needed, and jbweld where needed. decreased the head halves, I might pull the valve train and studs out and have the top and bottom skimmed slightly to assist with sealing, might not, we'll see. got the tail shaft housing off the transmission, output shaft and all that looks good, so I'm going to scare up a replacement housing and probably call it good...
