I wonder some days...

They are starting a new admin assistant who needs to sit at my desk so she can better support Karina, my neighbs. So I get moved out there. I am not impressed.

I wouldn't be impressed either. Someone has it out for you in that place. I hope it gets better for you soon.

Think it may be time to repolish my resume. And start harassing my old bosses some more.

That may be a good idea. It sounds like that place is slowly going to kill you.

Hey, did you watch any of the Olympics this year. I saw the closing ceremony and I have to say, William Shatner was.... well... odd?!?

I have no tv....satellite is one of those "I don't need it therefore I don't have it" expenses. Who knows, I may acquire it when my credit card debt is totally gone (4500!!! WHOOOO!!!! I've paid it down so much...I'm so proud of myself...course, the trips to cali don't help any...without those I'd be down to about 2500....yes...everytime I go to cali it's about a grand - between flights, parking, incidentals...for davis I agreed to pay for the hotel room instead of being a cheaparse and staying at his dad's house...which is nearby...so I'm budgeting money for that instead of using it to pay down the debt....sigh)

(if I didn't do my cali trips, I'd be able to acquire my backpacking gear by this summer. My boots are in sore need of replacement, and I needs me a proper pack...better tent would be nice too...and water filter...oh well. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride...)

AND...

I forgot my ipod at home today. I still can't get my itunes to recognize my iphone. I gotta uninstall itunes and reinstall it on my beast. I am scared. I don't want it to not recognize all my muzzak....sigh.

It's pre-close day. (aka BUSY!)

I has no ipod.

I'm now attached to my computer by a fine wire and streaming some Damian Rice playlists on youtube.

whee.

Oh! back to the subjcet at hand! I actually went to a friend's house to watch the hockey game (go Canada go!) but didn't stay for closing ceremonies. My olympic experience was limited to that, what I saw at the gym, and Clara's race (the firm sponsors a speed skater by the name of Clara....she got bronze in the 5000m....her skating is an art, it's beautiful....

It's kinda funny....how you can never really escape the past anymore. In today's world of technology, where everyone is connected, it's not as easy to just drop one person out of your life anymore.

At one point, moving cross country and stating your intentions would be enough. Provided that said person you want out was not the crazy stalker type.

Now, you can delete them off lists. You can block them off facebook, yet you'll still get reminders of that person. You'll get facebook saying "you have 3 friends in common! add this person!"

You can go back home for an innocent visit with your family - and if you set your msn status as something like "back in ottawa" so that people in town KNOW and can get in touch with you - then you'll get messages from that person, and it all comes rushing back.

Yes, I'm a little messed up. How is it that years later, just seeing a picture of someone is enough to bring it all back...

We women are emotional creatures. We don't forget. A lot of you guys seem so able to just forget and move on...I don't know how we are wired differently, but it sucks. First loves, even jerk ones, seem to still affect us.

On a totally not totally off topic note, guys with ladies: don't be afraid to let her know how she makes you feel. Give her some ego boosts sometimes. some days, we need it.
