New Jersey should let you pump your own gas!

Postby FCPGroton » Thu Jun 17, 2010 1:27 pm

Hey Everyone,

I really wish that you could pump your own gas in NJ. If I could, I would not be in the position I am in now. I run a 93 Octane only tune on my S60R and the stupid gas pump attendant put 87 Octane in my car after I told him twice to put in 93. So, I ended up being late to work because I had to run back home and put the stock tune back on the ECU.

And to top it all off, even on the stock tune, the car is running crappy. Stupid gas attendant!

i found that so weird that I couldn't pump when I was passing through...

I would love something like that but I know more then half of the gas attendants can't speak English, let alone read it. As for having them take it out, I unfortunately did not have time for that. If I did not have to go to work, I would have.

Yeah, I finally got through the tank of regular. The car was running so crappy that by the end, the car was almost un-driveable. I finally have a tank of 93 back in her and she is starting to run well again but still not as good as she did before. I think it will take sometime for her to be back to normal.

As for the octane boost, I heard that it was bad for your engine.

Yeah, I have heard they were bad, but I am not sure why. I will think about trying it if it ever happens again, which it better not.
